SMU’s 2027 football season will begin against Oklahoma at AT&T Stadium, followed by four home games against ACC opponents: Clemson, NC State, Georgia Tech and Stanford. The Mustangs also are set to play five league games on the road, visiting Cal, Virginia, Boston College, Pittsburgh and Duke.
The nine-game conference schedule will be SMU’s second under the ACC’s current format. That system calls for nine league games and at least 10 contests against Power Four opponents each season. The ACC said dates for the games, along with the complete 2027 football schedule, are expected in late January.
Under head coach Rhett Lashlee, SMU is 15-2 in ACC competition and has not been defeated in a conference matchup at Gerald J. Ford Stadium. That is the top league record among ACC programs during that period. The Mustangs are scheduled to travel to Louisville this week to play No. 23 Louisville.
