A significant investment is coming to McKinney, which is about 11 miles south of Anna. LITEON Technology, a Taiwanese electronics manufacturer, will establish a new facility focused on AI power and infrastructure, with a total investment of nearly $919 million.
This project is expected to generate more than 600 jobs over its lifetime, with the first phase alone involving a $307 million investment and approximately 500 jobs.
The new facility will cover over 650,000 square feet and will serve as LITEON's North American headquarters for advanced manufacturing. It will be responsible for designing and producing power systems essential for AI data centers. The state of Texas has supported this initiative with a $3.5 million grant from the Texas Enterprise Fund and an additional $100,000 Veteran Created Job Bonus.
Founded in 1975, LITEON has evolved from its early days in LED technology to focus on the growing demands of AI.
As the company anticipates that AI-related revenue will rise to 40 percent of its total this year, the McKinney facility will play a crucial role in meeting the power needs of data centers in North Texas, which has the highest number of planned data centers in the state.
This development marks one of the largest corporate investments in McKinney, reinforcing the city's position in advanced manufacturing and economic growth.
