Head coach Daniyal Robinson expressed excitement about the tournament, noting that it fits well with the team's scheduling objectives. He pointed out that their opponents—Boise State, North Dakota State, and Drake—have all recently competed in the NCAA Tournament, which will pose a significant challenge for his squad.
Robinson also mentioned that competing in a new environment will help simulate a postseason atmosphere, which is advantageous for the team.
North Texas will begin the tournament on November 27, facing North Dakota State for the first time. The Mean Green will then meet Boise State on November 28, continuing their rivalry with this being the 11th matchup between the teams. On November 29, they will play against Drake, marking the 37th encounter in their history. The specific game times will be announced later.
