As the football season approaches, Baylor University has revealed its projected offensive starters following the second week of fall camp. This announcement comes as the team prepares for its first game.
DJ Lagway is expected to take the starting quarterback position, with coaches noting his strong performance since joining the team. Lagway has expressed confidence in the offensive system crafted by Jake Spavital, which may enhance his skills in the Big 12.
Dawson Pendergrass is anticipated to be the starting running back. After missing last season, he aims to make a significant impact, having previously rushed for over 670 yards and scored six touchdowns in his first two years. His ability to run physically and catch passes makes him a valuable asset.
The wide receiver lineup is likely to include Louis Brown IV and Dre'lon Miller. Brown, a transfer from Colorado State and San Diego State, is expected to serve as the primary deep threat, while Miller, a former top recruit from Colorado, brings versatility to the position.
Gavin Freeman, transferring from Oklahoma State, is projected to take on the slot receiver role, known for his speed and agility. At tight end, Tony Livingston joins the team after two years at Florida, providing experience as both a blocker and pass catcher.
The offensive line will feature Logan Moore at left tackle, Nate Kibble at left guard, Koltin Sieracki at center, Asher Hale at right guard, and a right tackle yet to be confirmed. Moore, a junior transfer from UAB, is expected to protect Lagway's blindside, while Kibble and Sieracki will play crucial roles in the line's success.
