The governing body of the City of Anna has proposed a new property tax rate of $0.548282 per $100 valuation for the 2026 tax year. This proposed figure exceeds the no-new-revenue tax rate of $0.524729 per $100, indicating an increase in property taxes for residents.

The no-new-revenue tax rate represents the amount required to raise the same total revenue from the same properties in 2026 as was collected in 2025. The city also established a voter-approval tax rate of $0.590081 per $100. Because the proposed rate is lower than this voter-approval threshold, the city is not required to hold an election for residents to accept or reject the change.

A public hearing regarding the proposed tax rate will take place on September 1, 2026, at 6 p.m. The event will be held at the City of Anna Municipal Complex, located at 120 West 7th St., Anna, TX 75409. Residents may express support for or opposition to the proposal by attending this hearing or by contacting members of the governing body directly.

The city has made several documents available for review. These include a notice of public hearing, a notice regarding 2026 tax rates, and a notice for estimated taxes. All notices are available in PDF format through official city channels.
