The Houston Texans have not decided whether linebacker Henry To'oTo'o will go on injured reserve after a shoulder injury in the 36-31 loss to Buffalo, coach DeMeco Ryans said Monday. To'oTo'o was hurt with 2:34 left in the fourth quarter while tackling Bills tight end Dawson Knox. He needed assistance to stand, went to the sideline and did not return.
The injury is expected to keep the starting linebacker out for a period of time. Houston drafted To'oTo'o in the fifth round in 2023, and he signed a two-year, $16 million extension in August.
Buffalo's 36 points were the second-most Houston has surrendered during Ryans' tenure. The Texans gave up 37 points to Tampa Bay in 2023, and the Buffalo game was their first allowing more than 30 since Baltimore scored 31 on Christmas in 2024. Houston next plays Cincinnati at home, visits Indianapolis and then hosts Dallas.
All three opponents finished last season among the NFL's 12 highest-scoring offenses. ESPN reported the injury update.
