Anna defeated Frisco Panther Creek 42-27 at Toyota Stadium in Frisco on Friday night, improving its record to 3-0 while dropping the Panthers to 2-1. The contest marked the first 4-5A Division II district game for both squads, which entered the matchup undefeated.
Juelz Carter, a San Diego commit, was the primary offensive threat for the Coyotes. He rushed for 225 yards and two touchdowns while also catching six passes for 74 yards and two additional scores. Quarterback Zephyr Kreye, a senior with multiple Division I offers, completed the passing attack with 166 yards and three touchdowns.
Anna established an early lead on its opening drive. Carter caught a 29-yard touchdown pass from Kreye to put the Coyotes up 7-0. Kreye later connected with Christian Adams on a 13-yard score to extend the advantage to 14-0 with under three minutes remaining in the first quarter.
After Panther Creek lost a fumble in its own territory, Kreye added a two-yard keeper to make it 21-0 with 9:32 left in the second quarter.
Panther Creek responded with a 10-play drive that ended in a 21-yard touchdown pass from Tristin Schramm to Sukora Cooper, cutting the deficit to 21-7 before halftime. Carter then ran in from 13 yards late in the second quarter to push the lead to 35-7.
The Panthers opened the second half with another long drive, resulting in a five-yard touchdown run by Shawn White to make the score 35-13. Cooper, who led all receivers with 143 yards on eight catches, threw a 47-yard touchdown pass to CJ Watts in the third quarter to narrow the gap to 35-20.
