Anna moved up to the second spot in the Class 5A Division II standings for Week 4, according to statewide high school rankings released by Dave Campbell’s Texas Football magazine and TexasFootball.com. The Associated Press distributed the updated lists.
The Panthers improved their record to 3-0 after defeating Frisco Panther Creek with a score of 42-27. They were previously ranked third heading into the week. Boerne remained at the top of the division, holding the No. 1 position with a 3-0 record after beating Comal Davenport 30-21.
In Class 6A, Waxahachie retained the top overall ranking with a 3-0 record. The Wildcats defeated Denton Guyer 44-30 to stay at number one. Guyer dropped out of the top tier, falling from fifth place to No. 11 in the same division with a 2-1 record.
Other notable movements in Class 6A included Allen holding steady at fourth place after a 56-35 win over Southlake Carroll. Katy moved up to sixth after beating Katy Tompkins 45-21, while Fort Bend Ridge Point climbed to seventh following a victory against Bridgeland.
In Class 5A Division I, Smithson Valley kept the top spot with a 63-7 win over Austin McCallum. Frisco Lone Star remained at second after defeating Cedar Hill 56-27. Richmond Randle and Port Arthur Memorial held third and fourth places respectively.
