Residents in Valley View, Texas, are being urged to conserve water due to a malfunction affecting one of the city's water wells. Repairs commenced on Thursday and are anticipated to last one to two days.

While the city’s reserve water tanks are full, officials are requesting that residents minimize their water consumption to maintain an adequate supply for essential household needs, public safety, and emergency services throughout the repair process.

To assist in this effort, the city has enacted various restrictions, including prohibiting lawn watering, filling swimming pools and hot tubs, washing vehicles unless necessary for public safety or commercial reasons, and cleaning driveways and other hard surfaces. Residents are asked to refrain from all non-essential water use.

Cooke County Emergency Services indicated that while contractors project repairs will take one to two days, this timeline could change. They do not anticipate any boil water advisories but will keep the public informed should the situation evolve. Officials stressed that reducing unnecessary water usage is crucial to prevent further complications.

Princeton is about 12 miles south of Anna.
