Sales tax money flowing to Anna jumped in early summer, according to a report the city's economic development staff gave to the Anna Community Development Corporation and Economic Development Corporation boards on Thursday, Oct. 1.
The city's schedule of collections shows $1,064,551 for June 2026, compared with $867,435 for June 2025, a gain of 23%. May came in at $886,072, up 13% from $780,970 a year before. Economic Development Manager Salena Tittle presented the figures as part of the boards' monthly financial report.
The full-year picture is flatter
Looking at the whole fiscal year to date tells a different story, because of one unusual month last year.
Through the first nine months of the fiscal year that began in October 2025, the city's table lists $8,168,969 in collections. The same nine months a year earlier brought in $8,188,871, so the two years are nearly even.
The difference is March. The city recorded $1,873,725 in March 2025, more than double a typical month, and $1,059,013 this March, a drop of 43% on the city's chart. Set March aside and the other eight months of this year run roughly 13% ahead of the prior year.
The schedule does not explain why March 2025 was so large.
