Four more single-family permits would put Anna level with its total for all of last year, and October has barely started.

A permit comparison chart in the packet for Princeton's Oct. 20 joint meeting of its economic and community development boards lists Anna at 821 single-family permits from January through September 2026. The same chart puts Anna's full-year 2025 count at 825. The chart covers more than a dozen North Texas cities and does not say who compiled the numbers.

Month by month

Anna's 2026 figures on the chart:

  • January: 56
  • February: 83
  • March: 95
  • April: 95
  • May: 86
  • June: 102
  • July: 125
  • August: 75
  • September: 104

July was the busiest month of the year so far. September's 104 compares with 45 in September 2025, a 131% increase in the chart's own change column.

Adding up the chart's 2025 monthly entries, Anna had 625 permits through last September, so this year is running roughly 200 ahead at the same point.

Longer view

The chart's annual totals for Anna go back five years: 1,129 in 2021, 867 in 2022, 956 in 2023 and 1,254 in 2024, the high mark in that span, before the drop to 825 last year.

Among neighbors on the chart, Melissa shows 194 permits through September, and Van Alstyne 239.

The table is listed as a staff report item for the Princeton boards, which take no action on staff reports.
