The first priced construction package for the Collin County Courthouse Expansion, $5.75 million for site work and drilled piers, is on the Commissioners Court's agenda for Monday.
The item asks commissioners to approve Amendment No. 1 to the county's construction manager-at-risk agreement with Crossland Construction Company for the Collin County Courthouse Expansion, contract 2025-145. It would add Crossland's first guaranteed maximum price proposal, worth $5,749,173, to the contract.
That package covers only civil sitework and drilled piers, the county's purchasing staff wrote in the agenda memo. The money would come from the county's 2023 bond funds, and the budget and auditor's offices both noted that the funds are available. Because this is the first amendment, it would also be the total of all changes to the contract so far.
The agenda item does not give an overall cost, size or completion date for the expansion, and the proposal itself was not viewable on the county's public agenda site Friday.
The court meets at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 19, on the fourth floor of the Jack Hatchell Administration Building, 2300 Bloomdale Road, McKinney. The courthouse item is listed on the consent agenda.
A separate courthouse question on the ballot
Courthouse spending is also on the Nov. 3 ballot. The county's $296.5 million court and detention proposition includes $50 million for courthouse modernization: a new roof, replacing six escalators and 11 elevators, and finishing about 30,000 square feet of shell space for staff in the district attorney's and clerks' offices as more courts are added.
