Farmers Bank & Trust, a Magnolia, Arkansas, lender, plans to build a bank branch at 1000 W. Rosamond Pkwy. in Anna, according to a project registered Thursday, Oct. 15, with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

The filing, titled "Farmers Bank & Trust Branch - Shops at Shadowbend, Anna, TX," calls for new construction of a single-story, 6,730-square-foot financial branch with a drive-up and site amenities. It lists an estimated cost of $3,274,000, a start date of Nov. 1 and completion by July 31, 2027.

The project is privately funded, the bank is listed as owner, and the design firm is Studio Designs 109 LLC of Pittsburgh. No tenant is assigned, and the state's records show the project at its first stage, registered.

The record sits in the agency's architectural barriers registry, which handles accessibility plan review and inspection. It notes that an owner must get an inspection within a year after construction is finished.

Not the bank's first Anna address

The company announced an Anna branch last year. Arkansas Business reported in July 2025 that the bank planned a July 31 ribbon-cutting for a full-service location at 2100 W. White St., designed around personal service and touchscreen stations.

At the time, the bank said it had six Texas branches, with locations in New Boston, Paris, Prosper and Texarkana, and chairman and CEO Chris Gosnell said the Anna branch was built to suit the city's growth.

The state filing does not say whether the Rosamond Parkway branch would add to or replace the White Street location.

The bank

Farmers Bank & Trust now has 34 branches across Arkansas, Texas and Oklahoma, more than 400 employees and almost $3.2 billion in assets, according to a company announcement this week about the retirement of vice chairman and general counsel Bruce Maloch at the end of 2026.

The bank traces its history back 120 years to Magnolia, where it began with about 40 employees and two locations when Maloch joined in 1986.
