Collin College has owned 104 acres in Anna for years with no campus on them. The $600 million bond the college is asking voters to approve on Nov. 3 would change that.
The new Anna campus is listed among the bond's Phase III projects. According to the college's bond materials, it would be built for career and technical education along with general classrooms, aimed at workforce needs in the fast-growing northern part of the county. The college says the building would include unfinished space so it can be expanded later without starting over.
The college has not published a cost, size or opening date for the Anna campus on its bond pages.
What else is in the bond
Proposition A is a single $600 million question covering two phases of the college's Destination 2030 facilities plan.
Phase II includes a workforce building at the McKinney campus, an academic building in Wylie, a workforce expansion at the Plano Courtyard Center, a workforce and academic building at the Allen Technical Campus, a workforce building at the Celina campus and an aviation academy in McKinney.
Phase III includes the new Anna campus, a health sciences expansion at the Frisco campus, a workforce expansion in Wylie, a workforce building at the Farmersville campus and a new campus in Royse City.
