Diaz Drives In Runs
Yainer Diaz provided the offensive spark for the Houston Astros, hitting two home runs in a dominant performance against the Texas Rangers. The slugger’s power display helped Houston secure an 11-2 victory on Saturday night at Daikin Park.
Diaz’s first long ball came in the seventh inning, driving the score to 7-2. He added another later in the same frame, extending the lead further. His efforts were part of a four-homer barrage that overwhelmed Texas pitching throughout the contest.
Early Lead and Pitching Struggles
The Rangers took an early advantage in the second inning when Adolis Garcia drove in two runs with a single. However, the Astros quickly answered. Hunter Brown started for Houston, delivering five and two-thirds innings of work while allowing two earned runs. He struck out five batters before handing the ball over to the bullpen.
Texas starter Nathan Eovaldi struggled significantly, giving up six earned runs on ten hits over five innings. He exited the game with the loss, dropping his record to 10-9. Relief pitchers Luis Curvelo and Nicky Lopez combined for three more innings but could not stem the tide, allowing five additional runs.
