Alonso Drives in Runs
Pete Alonso delivered the decisive offensive performance for the Baltimore Orioles, hitting two home runs to help secure a 10-5 victory over the Texas Rangers. Alonso’s power display included a two-run shot in the second inning and another two-run homer in the fourth, directly accounting for four of Baltimore’s ten runs.
The Orioles’ lead was established early in the first inning. Josh Beavers reached on an infield single to first, allowing Alonso to score. Taveras followed with a double to right, bringing Holliday home. The scoring continued in the second inning when Cory Cowser homered to center field, measuring 441 feet. Shortly after, Alonso connected for a 393-foot home run to left, driving in Henderson.
Rangers Respond and Extend Lead
The Texas Rangers managed to put runs on the board in the third inning. Brandon Nimmo hit a 434-foot home run to center field, scoring Langford and Duran to make the score 5-3. However, Baltimore quickly regained control in the fourth inning. Alonso launched his second home run of the day, a 404-foot shot to left-center field, adding two more runs to the tally.
The Orioles’ offense remained potent in the sixth inning. O’Neill hit a 425-foot home run to center field, scoring Holliday. The game’s final runs came in the ninth inning. Cowser walked, allowing Beavers to score. Lopez then tripled to center field, bringing Cauley home, before Duran grounded out to third, scoring Lopez to finalize the 10-5 result.
