Four RBIs from Duran carried the Texas Rangers to a 5-4 win over the San Francisco Giants on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at Globe Life Field.
Duran delivered three run-scoring swings in the game. His single in the first inning gave Texas an early two-run lead, his double in the eighth inning put the Rangers back ahead, and his ground-rule double in the ninth inning drove in the final run.

Texas builds the early lead

Giants answer, Rangers respond
San Francisco tied the game in the top of the seventh inning. Basabe homered to left, a 377-foot drive that scored Gilbert and evened the score at 2-2. It was the only home run of the game.
Texas moved back in front in the bottom of the eighth. Duran doubled to right, bringing in Langford and Seager while Nimmo advanced to third. The play gave the Rangers a 4-2 lead.
The Giants tied it again in the top of the ninth. Eldridge singled to right, scoring Gilbert and McCray to make it 4-4.
Ninth-inning finish
Texas answered in the bottom of the ninth. Duran hit a ground-rule double that scored Burger and moved Seager to third, giving the Rangers a 5-4 lead that stood as the final score.
Jacob Latz was credited with the win for Texas, improving to 3-1. He pitched one inning, allowing two hits and one earned run with one walk and one strikeout. Dylan Smith took the loss for San Francisco, falling to 0-4 after allowing two hits and one earned run with one walk and one strikeout in two-thirds of an inning.
