DeGrom Dominates on the Mound

Jacob deGrom delivered a masterful performance for the Texas Rangers, striking out nine batters in five innings of work. The right-hander allowed just one earned run and three hits while issuing only one walk to earn the win, improving his record to 8-7. His ability to neutralize the Baltimore lineup was the foundation of the Rangers' offensive output.

Early Scoring Sets the Stage

The Rangers took an early lead in the first inning when Holliday homered to right field, a shot measuring 403 feet that put Texas ahead 1-0. The Orioles responded in the second inning with two runs. Carter scored on a ground ball by Duran that resulted in a fielder's choice to shortstop.

Shortly after, Burger reached on an infield single, and Carter crossed the plate again after a throwing error by shortstop Henderson extended the Rangers' lead to 2-1.

Seager’s Big Inning Seals It

The game remained close until the eighth inning, when Corey Seager changed the complexion of the contest. For Baltimore, Kyle Bradish took the loss after six innings, allowing five hits and one earned run while striking out four. Rico Garcia pitched one scoreless inning with two strikeouts. Grant Wolfram struggled in relief, giving up three earned runs on one hit and two walks in his 1.0 IP outing before being pulled.
