Baylor University has officially added Gao Duanrui to its women's tennis roster for the 2026-27 season. Head coach Joey Scrivano praised Duanrui's commitment, mental resilience, and strong work ethic.
Duanrui, from Tianjin, China, has reached career-high rankings of No. 1,186 in singles and No. 1,435 in doubles on the WTA tour. Throughout her career, she has recorded 52 singles wins, with significant victories at the M15 Tianjin in 2026 and the W15 Luan and Maanshan tournaments in 2025.
In doubles, she has made it to the quarterfinals on five occasions, including her participation at the W15 Tianjin in 2026 and three different draws at the W15 Luan in 2025, along with another quarterfinal finish at the W15 Maanshan in 2025.
The Baylor women's tennis team wrapped up the 2025 season with a No. 34 ranking in the ITA Year-End team standings. This marked the team's 27th appearance in the NCAA Tournament and their 19th journey to the second round. The season also included four All-Big 12 selections, three victories over ranked opponents, and two players qualifying for the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships.
