Woody Marks is expected to divide the backfield responsibilities with David Montgomery for the upcoming season, as reported by Jonathan Alexander of the Houston Chronicle. Although the distribution may not be exactly equal, a close split is anticipated, with both players being utilized similarly during training camp.

The Texans are likely to implement a hot-hand strategy, adjusting their backfield usage based on weekly performance. In the second preseason game, Marks participated in 10 plays, carrying the ball four times for 37 yards and achieving one touchdown. He also caught a pass for six yards while playing alongside the starting offense, as Montgomery was given a rest for that matchup.

In terms of fantasy football, Marks is being drafted nearly five rounds later than Montgomery, reflecting a notable difference in how the two players are valued. Further clarity on their respective roles will develop as the season unfolds.
