The Houston Texans have made roster changes following injuries sustained in their preseason opener against the Los Angeles Chargers. Quarterback Graham Mertz has been added to the Reserve/Injured list due to a knee injury confirmed by an MRI, which is expected to end his season.

Rookie running back Joshua Pitsenberger has also been placed on injured reserve after suffering an ankle injury late in the game.

Mertz's injury occurred just before halftime, compounding the challenges the Texans face as they deal with multiple injuries. Other players on the injury report include Ja'Marcus Ingram with a shoulder injury, Collin Wright who has a soft tissue strain, and Jake Hansen with an ankle issue. Despite these setbacks, the Texans have largely maintained their starting lineup, except for linebacker E.J.

Speed, who was injured earlier in the offseason.

Head coach DeMeco Ryans and his coaching staff will evaluate their options as they prepare for further roster changes during training camp. The team is focused on preserving depth and performance as they continue through the preseason. Additional roster moves are expected as the Texans assess the impact of these injuries on their upcoming games.
