The Houston Texans entered their road game against the Indianapolis Colts with an 0-2 record and were behind 10-0 late in the first half. Middle linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair was also injured during the contest.
Al-Shaair, a Pro Bowl defender, sustained a groin injury. The Texans listed him as questionable to come back during the game, and no additional information about the injury was provided.
Houston’s first two games were home defeats against the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals. Before the season, many analysts had considered the Texans’ defense among the NFL’s strongest, but the source said the unit had difficulty in both matchups. Houston made the playoffs last season after beginning that campaign slowly.
