The Houston Texans placed linebacker Jake Hummel on injured reserve Saturday, following a groin injury he sustained in the team’s Week 1 loss to the Bills. The designation rules him out for a minimum of four games, after which the team can evaluate whether to bring him back to the active roster.
Hummel has yet to return to practice since being injured. Jake Hansen is expected to remain in the starting lineup alongside Azeez Al-Shaair and Aiden Fisher while Hummel is unavailable.
