The Houston Texans are facing challenges with their wide receiver lineup as they prepare for the upcoming season. Reports indicate that Tank Dell's readiness for the team's first game is uncertain. He started practicing during the second week of training camp, but his involvement has been restricted to individual drills and a few team exercises.

Recently, he has not been seen practicing in front of the media, which has raised additional concerns about his availability.

Although two league sources have confirmed that Dell has not suffered any setbacks, he has not been able to practice consistently. It seems he will not participate in the Texans' last preseason game, and with just three weeks until the season opener on September 13, his status remains questionable.

This situation may lead to the Texans maintaining seven wide receivers on their 53-man roster while they await Dell's return.

In addition to Dell's uncertain status, the Texans are also dealing with the impact of Jayden Higgins' ACL injury, which has complicated the search for a No. 2 wide receiver to complement Nico Collins. Candidates such as Xavier Hutchinson and Jaylin Noel are now vying for that position.

While there is hope for Dell to regain his explosive playmaking ability, the timeline for his return to the field remains uncertain, and the team must continue to prepare without him for now.
