The Dallas Cowboys will face Baltimore in Brazil without four defensive players on Sunday. The unavailable players are linebacker DeMarvion Overshown, safeties P.J. Locke and Malik Hooker, and cornerback Cobie Durant. Three of those players are starters, while Locke is Dallas’ third safety and a primary reserve.
None of the four practiced during the week or traveled to Brazil. Overshown has a hamstring strain, and Hooker is dealing with a fractured forearm. Both injuries happened in the season opener against the Giants, and both missed Dallas’ Week 2 win over Washington. Overshown calls the defensive signals.
Stephen Jones, the Cowboys’ executive vice president, said Overshown and Hooker may be able to return for the Week 4 matchup at the Houston Texans. Neither has been cleared, and the source did not say either player is likely to play. Durant, sidelined by a hamstring injury, and Locke, who has a foot injury, are not projected to be available for Houston.
