Houston Texans coach DeMeco Ryans said wide receiver Nico Collins and guard Ed Ingram could be available Sunday when Houston faces the Dallas Cowboys in Week 4. Both players have been out for the team’s last two games, and Ryans said Houston remains hopeful they can play.
Collins, a three-time 1,000-yard receiver and Pro Bowl selection, has been an important part of the Texans’ passing offense. In one game against the Buffalo Bills, he made seven receptions totaling 75 yards and scored a touchdown. Houston’s receiving leader across the past two games has been Xavier Hutchinson, who recorded 120 yards on nine catches.
Dalton Schultz was the main exception as Houston had difficulty producing on the outside.
Wyatt Teller has started at right guard while Ingram has been absent. Over the last two games, the Texans have totaled 130 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown. Defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, who has missed two games with a knee injury, is still considered week-to-week. Houston had five sacks and forced two fumbles in its previous game despite missing players along the edge.
