The Dallas Cowboys have signed former Texas A&M standout Von Miller to a one-year contract valued at $5.5 million, which could rise to $7.5 million through performance incentives. Miller, a native of DeSoto, expressed enthusiasm about joining his hometown team.

At 37, Miller continues to prove his capabilities, having recorded nine sacks in 2025. His career accomplishments include two Super Bowl victories, seven All-Pro selections, and eight Pro Bowl appearances, enhancing the Cowboys' outside linebacker (OLB) depth.

The Cowboys are expected to have six OLBs on their 53-man roster, with Rashan Gary and Donovan Ezeiruaku projected as starters. Miller and Malachi Lawrence are anticipated to serve as primary backups, while James Houston is likely to secure a roster spot due to his special teams contributions.

The competition for the final OLB position involves Sam Williams and Marist Liufau, both of whom have demonstrated their value on special teams. The predicted final OLB depth chart includes Rashan Gary, Donovan Ezeiruaku, Malachi Lawrence, Von Miller, James Houston, and Marist Liufau, with further roster decisions pending.
