Stillwell, a former player at UCF, had recruited to Lubbock following the announcement that Grant McCasland would use his fifth year of eligibility. His initial eligibility was established through a courtroom victory that permitted athletes from the 2022 recruiting class to claim an additional season under revised NCAA guidelines.
However, the NCAA has consistently challenged these rulings, seeking to reverse the decisions that granted the extra season.
