Oziyah Sellers is practicing with SMU’s men’s basketball team after enrolling at the school, but SMU has not announced when a decision on his eligibility will be made. The fifth-year guard joined the roster after playing at St. John’s, Stanford and USC.
Sellers started 36 games for St. John’s in 2025-26, averaging 10.3 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game. The Red Storm went 30-7 and won the Big East championship. At Stanford in 2024-25, Sellers started every game and posted 13.7 points per contest in the ACC.
He spent his first two college seasons at USC under SMU coach Andy Enfield. Sellers has converted 37.8% of his career three-point attempts, including a sophomore-season best of 42.9% from beyond the arc at USC. He has made 86.9% of his free throws.
The roster move comes as SMU starts its third season with Enfield. The Mustangs’ 2026-27 transfer class is ranked No. 21 nationally by On3.
