The Dallas Cowboys have ruled out four defensive players for their Week 3 meeting with the Baltimore Ravens in Brazil. Cobie Durant, Malik Hooker, P.J. Locke and DeMarvion Overshown each missed practice Wednesday and Thursday and will not travel to Rio de Janeiro.
Durant, who joined Dallas this offseason after four seasons with the Rams, started the Cowboys’ first two games. He suffered a hamstring injury in last Sunday’s victory over Washington after playing 87 defensive snaps and was expected to miss multiple weeks. Hooker has been out since breaking his forearm during the season opener against the New York Giants.
He started that game but departed after 12 defensive snaps.
Locke replaced Hooker in the starting lineup against Washington and played 31 defensive snaps before tearing the plantar fascia in his foot. Overshown will miss his second consecutive game because of a hamstring strain suffered in the opener, when he started and recorded seven tackles.
Jaishawn Barham is expected to take on more work against Baltimore, and second-year cornerback Shavon Revel Jr. is also expected to see increased playing time. Dallas and Baltimore are both 1-1. The game is set for 3:25 p.m.
