The Dallas Cowboys have officially trimmed their roster from 91 players to the mandated 53 in preparation for the 2026 NFL season. This decision precedes their season opener in East Rutherford, as the team also works to establish its practice squad.
Head coach Brian Schottenheimer remarked on the difficulty of making roster cuts this year, highlighting the impressive depth and talent within the team. The finalized roster features three quarterbacks, three running backs, and six wide receivers, among other positions.
The roster breakdown includes Dak Prescott, Joe Milton, and Sam Howell at quarterback, with Javonte Williams, Malik Davis, and Hunter Luepke as running backs. The wide receiver group consists of CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, and others. Additionally, the team has designated several players, including linebacker Marist Liufau and cornerback Devin Moore, for injured reserve or the physically unable to perform list.
More roster changes are expected as the Cowboys finalize their preparations for the season.
