The Green Bay Packers have agreed to sign guard Laken Tomlinson from the Dallas Cowboys' practice squad, NFL Network reporters Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reported. The move leaves Dallas with Marcellus Johnson and Wanya Morris as its two practice-squad offensive linemen. Dallas is scheduled to visit Green Bay in Week 6.
Tomlinson, 34, joined Dallas earlier this month because All-Pro guard Tyler Smith was placed on injured reserve after thumb surgery. He did not appear in either of the Cowboys' first two games, and his first game with Green Bay has not been determined. Smith can return from injured reserve after Week 4.
Detroit selected Tomlinson in the first round of the 2015 draft. In 11 NFL seasons, he has played in 173 games and started 162, earning a 2021 Pro Bowl selection with the San Francisco 49ers. His other teams include the New York Jets, Seattle Seahawks and Houston Texans, for whom he played 10 games in 2025.
Johnson is listed as a tackle and has not played in an NFL game, while Morris has lined up at both tackle positions in his three-year career. Green Bay has had offensive-line injuries, with Aaron Banks and Zach Bako-Bewele missing Week 3. Bako-Bewele will miss the rest of the season because of a torn patellar tendon.
Packers quarterback Jordan Love has been sacked eight times, and Pro Football Focus credits Green Bay with 57 pressures allowed in three games. Tomlinson surrendered three sacks and 11 pressures for Houston last season. Further details about his Packers role were not provided.
