The Dallas Cowboys may seek another safety after executive vice president Stephen Jones said Jalen Thompson is expected to be sidelined for four or more weeks with a hamstring injury. Jones did not identify any players or teams Dallas might pursue.
Thompson was hurt in the Cowboys’ 34-31 defeat against the Baltimore Ravens in Brazil. Dallas seemed positioned to send the game to overtime near the end, but Baltimore connected on a long pass and then made the field goal that decided the game.
Dallas entered that matchup with a 1-2 record. In earlier games, the Cowboys gave up a strong offensive showing to the New York Giants in Week 1 and surrendered late production to Marcus Mariota in Week 2. The Cowboys are set to visit the 0-3 Houston Texans next Sunday, with kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m. Eastern time in Houston.
