The Cowboys have brought tight end Mitch Van Vooren onto their roster after he was let go by the New England Patriots on August 18, according to Nick Harris from the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. This move comes as the team deals with injuries affecting their backup tight ends, which include Brevyn Spann-Ford, Michael Trigg, and D.J. Rogers.

As a result, the Cowboys had just two healthy tight ends available for their most recent preseason game.

Although Van Vooren has yet to appear in a regular-season NFL game, he will have a chance to demonstrate his abilities in the Cowboys' final preseason contest. Specific details regarding how the team plans to utilize Van Vooren have not been disclosed.
