Baylor University quarterback DJ Lagway is currently listed as day-to-day due to an ankle injury, as stated by head coach Dave Aranda. The coaching staff remains hopeful that Lagway will be fit to participate in the team's next game against Prairie View A&M.

Lagway suffered the injury during the Bears' close 17-16 loss to Auburn in their season opener. He played the entire match despite the injury, effectively leading the offense, although his movement was somewhat restricted. In his first game with Baylor, Lagway completed 27 of 54 passes for a total of 333 yards, achieving two touchdowns along with one interception.

He was instrumental in a late-game comeback, connecting with Gavin Freeman for a crucial 28-yard pass on a fourth-and-10 play, and then throwing a 27-yard pass to Jadon Porter, which advanced the Bears to the Auburn 5-yard line. He concluded that drive with a touchdown pass to Freeman from five yards out, just nine seconds before the game ended.

Updates regarding Lagway's recovery will be provided after practices on Tuesday and Wednesday as the team continues to assess his condition.
