Angela Stanford is joining TCU’s women’s golf staff as an assistant coach, returning to the university where she set several program marks as a player. She competed for the Horned Frogs from 1996 through 2000 and earned All-American honors four times, a record that remains unmatched at TCU.
Stanford also holds the school record with 10 victories. She is from Saginaw, about 15 miles from Fort Worth. Her hiring follows her recent assignment as captain of the U.S. team at the Solheim Cup.
TCU head coach Ravaioli-Larkin said Stanford will become the program’s third coach and expressed strong enthusiasm about bringing her back to the university. Ravaioli-Larkin also pointed to Stanford’s major-championship experience and her work leading the U.S. Solheim Cup team. TCU did not provide additional details about Stanford’s duties.
