Abby Vander Wal, an outside hitter for the Texas Longhorns, left the volleyball match against TCU after suffering a knee injury during the first set. The injury occurred as she fell during a scramble on the left side of the court, remaining down while visibly in pain.
Assisted by training staff, Vander Wal was helped off the court, unable to place weight on her leg. Prior to her exit, she had made significant contributions, including two kills and a topspin serve that initiated two scoring runs for her team. The Longhorns went on to win the match by sweeping TCU.
As of now, further information about the extent of Vander Wal's injury has not been disclosed, and updates are expected as the situation develops.
