The ban was enacted after the newspaper covered a locker room incident that resulted in Jacob Fields being charged with aggravated assault against Dozie Noble Ezukanma, who suffered a brain bleed.
Despite the suspension, the Star-Telegram continued to report on the situation. TCU Athletics released a statement affirming its commitment to progress and recognizing the newspaper's importance as an independent news outlet in the community.
The Horned Frogs began their season with a loss against North Carolina, ending 15-10 in Ireland. They are set to play against Grambling State on September 12. The decision to revoke the Star-Telegram's credentials was reportedly tied to threats made against Ezukanma, although the newspaper clarified it did not disclose his identity following the incident.
With the reinstatement of credentials, the Star-Telegram will regain full access to media areas at TCU games.
