Tayven Jackson has been designated the starting quarterback for the North Texas Mean Green as they gear up to face Indiana University on September 5, 2026. This development is of interest to local football enthusiasts in Anna, Texas, as they follow Jackson's journey.

Jackson, who has a diverse college football background, previously played for the Hoosiers. He had limited opportunities at Tennessee in 2022 and participated in 13 games for Indiana during the 2023-24 season, achieving a completion rate of 61.2% with six touchdowns and six interceptions.

In 2025, he transferred to the University of Central Florida (UCF), where he completed 63.5% of his passes for 2,151 yards, ten touchdowns, and eight interceptions, contributing to the Knights' 5-7 record.

Before his collegiate career, Jackson excelled at Center Grove High School, throwing for 4,813 yards and 47 touchdowns from 2018 to 2021, leading his team to an undefeated Class 6A championship. Notably, he is the brother of Trayce Jackson-Davis, a former Indiana Mr. Basketball and current player for the Toronto Raptors.

The game between North Texas and Indiana will kick off at noon and will be broadcast on Fox.
