The City of Anna will host a household hazardous waste and electronic waste collection event on October 24. The event runs from 8 a.m. to noon at the Anna Municipal Plaza. Participation is free for Anna residents, but proof of residency is required. Space is limited, so attendees are advised to arrive early. The event will proceed rain or shine.

City staff will be present to assist residents with unloading their items.

The following household hazardous waste materials are accepted: acids, aerosol cans, antifreeze, batteries (car and household), brake fluid, craft chemicals, degreasers, drain cleaners, fertilizers, fluorescent lights, fuel, fungicides, gasoline, helium tanks, herbicides, hobby chemicals, household cleaners, items containing mercury, motor oil, oil filters, paint thinners, paints, pest strips, pesticides, photo chemicals, pool chemicals, propane tanks, solvents, stains, and varnishes.

Electronic waste accepted includes home computers, printers, scanners, keyboards, fax machines, televisions, receivers, projectors, and DVD or game consoles.

Materials that are not accepted at this event include ammunition, explosives, biohazardous waste, radioactive waste, tires, and pharmaceuticals. Residents with these items must seek alternative disposal methods.

This announcement serves as the official notice for the upcoming collection drive. No additional registration is mentioned in the city's release. Residents should bring valid proof of residency to verify their eligibility for the free service.
