Game Unfolds in Late Innings
The Astros took an early lead in the third inning when Paredes singled to right, allowing Diaz and Trammell to score. Arizona cut into the deficit in the fifth inning on a sacrifice fly by Perdomo that scored Tawa. The Astros retook the lead in the same inning when Paredes reached on an infield single, allowing Peña to score.
In the seventh inning, Nootbaar doubled to right, scoring Tawa to make it 3-2 Houston. The game remained tied at 3-3 until the eighth inning, when Marte hit a 388-foot home run to right to give Houston a 3-2 lead. In the bottom of the 10th, Moreno singled to center, driving in Vargas for the go-ahead run.
