Anna staff are aiming to bring a Finley Park construction contract to City Council on Oct. 27, according to the city's October engineering report.

The report says staff are evaluating bids and will develop a guaranteed maximum price before seeking council approval. The date is a staff target; the report does not establish that a contract has been approved or that the item has been placed on a final meeting agenda.

Finley Park is planned for the southeast corner of Finley Boulevard and Leonard Avenue. A project filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation lists playgrounds, trails, a dog park, a pavilion, restrooms, parking and a trellis overlook among the proposed features.

The city describes the project, previously called Anna Crossing Park, as a 28-acre neighborhood park with active and passive recreation areas. Its design has incorporated neighborhood input.

The February state filing carries an estimated cost of $6.8 million. That figure is a project estimate, rather than the guaranteed maximum construction price now being prepared for council consideration.
