Anna's rise has tracked the town's. The Coyotes enter 2026 ranked No. 60 in Texas and No. 213 nationally by On3, a level the program did not occupy a few years ago.

The season opens Friday, Aug. 28 on the road at Colleyville Heritage, ranked No. 91.

A schedule with real weight

Brock, ranked No. 55, visits on Sept. 4. Anna then travels to Panther Creek, ranked No. 81, on Sept. 11. The measuring stick arrives later in the form of Celina, ranked No. 20 in the state and one of the most established programs in the region.

The Coyotes play nine regular-season games.

The context around the team

Anna is one of the fastest-growing towns in Texas, and enrollment growth eventually shows up on a football roster. A team ranked inside the state's top 60, with three ranked opponents in its first four weeks, is a reasonable snapshot of where the program currently stands.

The opener kicks off Friday, Aug. 28. Rankings are On3's preseason Texas rankings.
